Sergeant Palmer was kind enough to allow me to make a portrait of him. This image was important for me to capture because we need to do a better job in this nation of supporting our troops, active and fallen, as well as their families. We currently still have thousands of troops in Afghanistan. That should not be relevant only to the families who have a loved one deployed. They're over there and elsewhere around the world protecting us all. Find a way to support them. I was at the wreath laying providing photography services in support of the T.A.P.S. organization, a support organization for bereaved military families. You can get more info about the organization and their many volunteer opportunities at taps.org. Find a way to ACTIVELY support the troops (just saying it does nothing). If we all DO just a little, the collective impact is significant.
